There's never been a better time to enroll your child in a safe, practical, and confidence building martial art in Georgetown, Texas.

At John's Gym Georgetown our Kids Martial Arts program is focused on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu where  kids learn how to defend themselves, stand up to bullies, and develop a healthy body and positive mindset, but it's our Leadership Program focused on Self Discipline and Resiliency that sets our Kids Martial Arts program apart from others in Georgetown and surrounding areas.

Up until now, you, as a parent, have had to choose between a practical martial art that builds true confidence, and martial arts programs that don't really have the practical self defense aspect but good leadership programs. At John's Gym Georgetown, you get the best of both worlds; perhaps that's why our kids often win tournaments they enter while also training towards their Black Belt and growing into productive members of society. We have a great group of quality kids here at John's Gym Georgetown, schedule your free One-on-One session to find out how we can positively impact your child's life.

We recommend a complimentary lesson so that one of our instructors can evaluate a students' skill level, especially for our youngest students. We offer our Kids Martial Arts classes during the week with an open mat for kids on Saturdays.

I'm not sure I can accurately express the shift we have seen in Gavin.
He takes his time at Jiu-Jitsu seriously. He knows he has to work hard and smart every minute on the mats. The guidance provided by the coaches is remarkable! It transcends to life off of the mats as well. Thank you!

What Positive
Impact Can I
Expect For My Child?

  • check
Discipline - Our Martial Arts program is known for instilling discipline in our kids from day one. Boundaries are clearly set, our code of conduct is clearly explained, and all of us as a team work together to make sure each child is following our guidelines. Enrolling your child in our Kids program will help your child develop a disciplined attitude not only to us but also at school and at home
  • check
Paying AttentionKids who have a hard time paying attention and focusing on tasks see a big improvement from our martial arts program. Primarily because of the physical aspect of it, but also from the loving attention and discipline our coaches give. We have many kids who have been diagnosed ADD or ADHD that are finally able to put their talents to work in a fun and engaging environment where they want to focus.
  • check
Calming Confidence - It's a common misconception that learning self defense and martial arts will make your child want to fight more; however, what happens over time is they grow a quiet confidence where they don't want to start an altercation, but would rather subdue the situation through talking first. Our instructors make it clear that the techniques we teach them are for self defense not for starting fights.
  • check
Self-Respect - Think about it? If you're a child with no knowledge of how to defend yourself, are you going to stand up to the bully? Probably not. Having self-respect comes from confidence and that kind of confidence comes from coming to martial arts class and learning how to defend themselves. Then, if being teased or confronted with a bully, your child can more confidently use their words to diffuse a situation without fear because they know how to defend themselves.
  • check
Weight Lose - Our Martial Arts are active and lots of fun. Whether they are training with a partner or doing solo drills, they'll be leaving each class with a sweat. The parents love seeing their kids in a positive atmosphere sweating alittle bit rather than seeing them plopped on the couch staring at their phones or tv.
  • check
Coordination - We do many drills and techniques that require them to develop and increase their whole body coordination so that they feel stronger and more aware of their body.

    and Many More...

Awesome Moment Between a Mom and Her Boy in a Jiu Jitsu Match!

Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense at John's Gym Georgetown

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or BJJ, is known as Arte Suave or The Gentle Art because is uses leverage and technique, rather than strength to subdue your opponent. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu utilizes a Jiu Jitsu Gi / Kimono. Most fights are taken to the ground, and that’s where BJJ takes over. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu there is no punching or kicking exchanges, opponents are subdued by joint locks and chokes. The goal of each rolling session is not to hurt your opponent, but to get him to the point where he must tap out. We teach our students to tap early and often (it's basically like saying, "uncle"). BJJ is a safe and fun way for your child to learn how to defend himself without having to throw punches or kicks.

The staff is friendly, easy to talk to and works with my son every step of the way. My son's confidence has grown throughout the two years he has trained with Georgetown BJJ. The instructors have encouraged him throughout classes and in tournaments to strive towards the next level. I appreciate everything they have done for us. Because of the great experience, we have enrolled our five year old daughter and she absolutely loves it! Thanks Georgetown BJJ!
